On the planet Siagaunthl there is a rather peculiar rocky wasteland that experiences a profuse amount of volcanic activity - a mostly flat, although craggy rocky land dotted with numerous vents that belch forth hot currents of smoke from the bowels of the planet. The vents are as tall and wide as a man, and the heat they produce is unbearable. In primeval times they were once hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the sea, although come the Ebbing and they are now waterless save for the boiling saline puddle here and there, and the towering stromatolites that loom above.

Monstrous gorges stretch across this region, from where lava flows. Hideous protoplasmic things shamble amid the forboding rock chimneys. Extremophilic creatures slither and crawl across the thin gray crust of the earth, laying their eggs within algae-choked puddles. Here the crust of this particular celestial sphere is considerably thinner than the rest of it, meaning that the former hydrothermic vents do not reach down far, and the ground - sometimes carpeted by a thin rug of red moss - is intolerably hot, and only the stilt-legged Kliya'arq dare venture this land as the ends of their legs are like toothpicks, and their electrokinetic abilities are more than enough to ward off any potential predators.

Still, they seldom depart their homeland of Yaad-Kilzes through any port of call that is not the port of Cro Yendor, and any Kliya'arq traveller will be aware of the perils that they face here - electromagnetic storms interfere communications between any Kliya'arq that attempts to speak, so they are sure to always remain close to one another, and there are many outside beasts that have adapted to the Land of Chimneys which do not use electrolocation like that of a hammerhead shark.

This volcanic march is best avoided, except by the brave and foolish who dare plunge themselves into the depths of the ancient Sulbiernian shipwrecks that have been speculated to have been used as weapons of war - most probably against the Iondaakian forces that conquered the other four continents of the planet in the ages before the Inordinate Ebbing, when countless alien forces attempted to sieze control of this adolescent planet, coveting the crystal strands that were woven into a great quilt that lined its mantle.
